Cory Schneider

Cory Franklin Schneider ( born March 18, 1986 in Marblehead, Massachusetts) is an American- Swiss professional ice hockey goaltender who stands since June 2013 with the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League contract.
Career
College
Cory Schneider began his career as a hockey player in the team of the U.S. National Team Development Program, for which he was active in the 2003/04 season in the North American Hockey League. He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2004 in the first round than a total of 26 players from the Vancouver Canucks. First, however, he attended from 2004 to 2007 Boston College, for his hockey team, he played in parallel in the National Collegiate Athletic Association. With the Boston College won the goalkeeper both 2005 and 2007 the Hockey East Championship. Schneider was also able to convince himself during his college days. In his rookie year of 2004/ 05 he was appointed in both the Hockey East All- Rookie Team, as well as the Hockey East All- Tournament Team. In addition, he was awarded the Bernie Burke Outstanding Freshman Award, which is awarded by Boston College to the best player in his first year of college. In the season 2005/ 06 he was elected team in the NCAA East First All-American Team, as well as the Hockey East Second All-Star. He also won the Hockey East Goaltending Award as a goalkeeper with the lowest Gegentorschnitt and was appointed in March 2006 to the goalkeeper of the month and received at the end of the season 2006/ 07 the Norman F. Dailey Memorial Award as the best player of Boston College.
Professional career
In the 2007 /08 season, Schneider made his debut in professional hockey for the Manitoba Moose, the American Hockey League farm team of the Vancouver Canucks. In 36 games he scored in his rookie year 21 wins and he had a Gegentorschnitt of 2.28 at a catch rate of 91.6 percent. Due to its strong professional debut, he was elected in March 2008 rookie of the month in the league. During his time in the team from Winnipeg, the Canadian was particularly impressive in the 2008 /09 season. Due to its good performance in the farm team, appointed him the Vancouver Canucks on November 22, 2008 as the replacement for the injured Roberto Luongo for the first time in their NHL squad, after he had by then reached ten wins in a row with the Manitoba Moose. For this he was appointed to the AHL goalie of the month of November. On 29 November 2008 he was in the 1-3 defeat against the Calgary Flames made his debut in the National Hockey League. His first NHL victory was on December 5 in a 2-1 win over the Minnesota Wild. Overall, Schneider played in eight games this season in the NHL Vancouver before with Jason LaBarbera another goalkeeper has been committed and the Americans was sent back on 5 January 2009 back to the Manitoba Moose. Then he was able to extend his winning streak in the AHL at 13 and was another franchise record for the Manitoba Moose on. In the AHL All- Star Classic, he was in the starting lineup of the team PlanetUSA. In the rest of the season he led his team into the final of the Calder Cup, in which he defeated the Manitoba Moose of the Hershey Bears with 2:4 victories. Along with Karl Goehring, with whom he was alternately in goal for the Moose, he received the Harry " Hap " Holmes Memorial Award for AHL goalie team with the lowest Gegentorschnitt. Schneider himself, who, won in the 40 games of the regular season, in which he guarded the gate, on average, allowed only 2.04 goals per game and reached a quota of 92.8 percent beyond the Aldege " Baz " Bastien Award as best goalkeeper in the league and was elected to the first All-Star team in the AHL. The Gegentorschnitt also hired a franchise internal record for Manitoba Moose dar. Since 2012 he is in Switzerland at the HC Ambri Piotta in the NLA under contract.
In the 2009/10 season Schneider ran almost exclusively for the Manitoba Moose in the AHL, while two games for Vancouver played in the NHL. After the change of Andrew Raycroft to the Dallas Stars, the Americans rose to the 2010/11 season for the second goalkeeper of the Canucks on behind the Canadian goalie Roberto Luongo. On March 6, 2011 he succeeded his first shutout in the NHL, as a tailor in the encounter against the Anaheim Ducks parried 26 Shots.
End of June 2013 he was transferred in exchange for a first-round vote in the NHL Entry Draft in 2013 to the New Jersey Devils.
Internationally
For the U.S., Schneider took at junior level at the U18 World Youth Championship 2004 U20 World Junior Championships in 2005 and 2006 as well as some. In the U18 Junior World Championship in 2004 with his team he won the silver medal here. In the senior level, he stood in his country's squad at the World Cup 2007, remained as a substitute goalkeeper but without the use.
