Weightlifting at the 2012 Summer Olympics – Men's 56 kg
The Men's Weightlifting in the class up to 56 kg ( bantamweight ) at the 2012 Olympic Games in London was held on 29 July 2012 at the Exhibition Centre London. It occurred in 18 athletes.
The competition consisted of two parts: Tear ( Snatch ) and put ( Clean and Jerk ). The participants were divided into two groups at first in the snatch, in which they had three attempts. Who did not have a valid attempt was eliminated. In pushing each starter had three attempts again. Won The athlete with the highest weight added together. In the event of a tie, the lower body weight tipped the scales.

Winner Om Yun- chol (PRK ) -won the first Olympic gold medal in North Korea in this weight class. Valentin Hristov won the first medal for Azerbaijan in this weight class. The Tunisian Khalil El- Maaoui who was in second position after rupture, occurred not for thrusting.
