Western Canada Hockey League (1932–33)

The Western Canada Hockey League (short: WCHL ) was a Canadian ice hockey minor league, which consisted solely in the season 1932/33. The only winners were the WCHL Calgary Tigers. An eponymous Hockey League existed from 1921 to 1926.

History

The Western Canada Hockey League was founded in 1932 and should be considered as minor league tradition of the same Hockey League continued, which acted as Major League between 1921-1926. The new WCHL consisted exclusively of teams that had already played in the former WCHL. The Regina Capitals finished even the season 1932/33, as the Vancouver Maroons in Vancouver, British Columbia, a name which had also been used by a former team of the old WCHL. After the League had failed after only one year, the Calgary Tigers and Edmonton Eskimos were transferred to the newly formed North West Hockey League.
