Willy Brokamp

Willy Brokamp, 1973

Willy Brokamp ( born February 25, 1946 in Kerkrade ) is a former Dutch professional footballer.

Career

Brokamp played in the 1960s and early 1970s for the South Limburg club MVV Maastricht. He originally played with a smaller, but well-known for his temporarily very good youth work Kerkrader club RKVV Chevremont. In his long time as a professional footballer at the MVV fast winger was nicknamed " de blonde pijl " ( the blond arrow). This is a sign of awareness Brokamps at that time, in which he reached a top position occupied several times in the election for Dutch Footballer of the Year. Even as a striker and goalscorer, he distinguished himself repeatedly and finished several times a season under the Toptorjägern the Eredivisie. In 1974 Brokamp took the change to the European giants Ajax Amsterdam. In 1976 he returned to the MVV and finished his career there in 1978.

Brokamp played a total of six games in the Dutch national football team ( elftal ) and was able to achieve on average a goal per game.

Other activities

Brokamp was professionally active already in his time as a professional football player and off the field. In Maastricht it was before the end of his career as an operator of a restaurant at the local Vrijthof known, Café Aux Pays -Bas. These more Local came in the wake in Maastricht.
