Zitadelle (Berlin U-Bahn)

The metro station is a station of Citadel Berlin U -Bahn line U7. It was opened as part of the extension of the U7 on 1 October 1984 to Rathaus Spandau. It is located in the district of hazel Horst near the same Spandau Citadel, an ancient fortress, to which also the interior design of the station alludes.

This station is bordered by its side platforms significantly from the design of the northwestern U7 from where usually only central platforms were built.

When planning this station, the name was used on Juliusturm to clarify the situation under the same road. As was discussed but in the further design of the nearby Spandau Citadel, one used the name Citadel.

Note the designed by architect Rainer G. Rümmler clinkered station wall and the elaborate entrance portals. At the station wall maps and photographs hanging from personalities of the formerly independent city of Spandau.

By 2016, the station should be accessible rebuilt and equipped with three elevators.

Connection

At the metro station is a transfer possibility of the U7 to bus line X33 of the Berlin Transport Authority.
