Zoël Amberg

Zoel Amberg ( born September 25, 1992 Stans ) is a Swiss race car driver. It occurs since 2012 in the Formula Renault 3.5.

Career

Amberg began his motorsport career in karting in 2004 and was active until 2008 in this sport. In 2009, he debuted for Jenzer Motorsport in Formula racing. He competed in three racing series with two wins and was fourth in the Italian Formula Renault and fifth in the Swiss Formula Renault. He also took part in a race weekend of the Western European Formula Renault. 2010 remained at Amberg Jenzer Motorsport. The most successful Amberg found in the Swiss Formula Renault, the dominant won the championship. He participated in ten out of twelve races in part, winning six of them and was second four times. In addition, Amberg competed in the Formula Abarth and decided in this championship one race for themselves. At the end of the season he had to his teammate Maxim Zimin, who was fifth, beaten and finished the season in seventh place overall.

2011 joined Atech CRS GP Amberg in the GP3 Series. He received a two-year contract with the British team. His first season he finished without points on the 28th place in the drivers' standings. In addition, he participated in three events organized by the European F3 Open for De Villota Motorsport. He stood on the podium four times and scored a win. In the overall standings, he was eighth.

Despite a two-year contract to be GP3 engagement ended at season's end and he moved to Pons Racing, where he raced in the Formula Renault 3.5 in 2012. His teammate was Yann Cunha. Both pilots were available for two seasons under contract. Amberg drove a the single point, the Pons scored this season. He finished 26th in the driver standings. In addition, he took part in a race in the Blancpain Endurance Series and gave his début in the GT car. 2013 received Amberg with Nikolai Marzenko a new teammates at Pons Racing. A sixth place was his only points placement in the season. With 8 to 20 points he lost Marzenko team internally. Amberg reached the 24th place in the overall standings. 2014 moved Amberg within the Formula Renault 3.5 to Formula AV.
