Garlasco

Garlasco ( in the local dialect Garlàsc ) is a northwestern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 9835 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the Province of Pavia in Lombardy. The community is located about 18 kilometers west of Pavia and about 37 kilometers south-west of Milan in the Parco Lombardo Valle del Ticino. Through this part of the Lomellina, the western Po Valley, flows near the village of Garlasco Terdoppio.

History

Is first mentioned the town in the 10th century. As of the end of the Middle Ages, the lords of Garlasco Count (contingent ) to name a few.

Traffic

Through the community, the Strada Statale dei 596 Cairoli Mortara leads coming towards Pavia ( Autostrada A54 ). A few kilometers east of Garlasco runs the Autostrada A7 from Milan to Genova.

A train station is on the railway line Vercelli Pavia since 1882.
