Issogne

Issogne is an Italian municipality in the autonomous region of Aosta Valley. The municipality has 1416 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012), is located at an average altitude of 387 m slm and has a size of 24 km ². The inhabitants are called Issognesi ( it.) or Issogneins (French ). Issogne is a member of the Association of Municipalities Comunità Montana Evançon. A portion of the Mount Avic Natural Park, the first natural park of its kind in the Aosta Valley. The park was established in 1989.

Issogne consists of the districts (Italian Frazioni, French Hameau ) Pied- de -ville, La Colombière, La Place, Les Margaret, Les Perruchon, Follias, Les Genot, Les Miskovsky, Les Garines, Fleuran, Clapéyas, Favaz, Mure, Sommet de ville, Barmet, Les Mariette, La Ronchaille Dessus and La Ronchaille lingerie. The neighboring municipalities are Arnad, Champdepraz, Champorcher, Pontboset and Verrès.

During the Fascist period, the village was the Italianate name Issogno.

Specialty

In Issogne wine production. The DOC wine Arnad - Montjovet contains at least 70 % from the Nebbiolo grape. In addition, the varieties Moscato, Dolcetto, Neyret, Vien de Nus and Pinot Noir find the entrance to the developed as a blending wine.
