Valgrisenche

Valgrisenche is an Italian municipality in the autonomous region of Aosta Valley. The municipality has 198 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012), is located at an average altitude of 1664 m above sea level. Sea level and has a size of 112 km ².

Valgrisenche consists of the districts lapel, Prariond, Cere, La Frassy, La Bethaz, Plante, Chez- Carral, Darbelley, Gerbelle, Église, Mondanges, Bonne, Menthieu, Rocher, Usellières, passing the Surrier. The neighboring communities are called Arvier, La Thuile, Rhêmes -Notre -Dame, Rhêmes- Saint-Georges, Sainte -Foy -Tarentaise (France) and Tignes (France)

Valgrisenche is in the middle of the valley of the same very near the reservoir Lago di Beauregard (French Lac de Beauregard ).

The parish church was built in the 13th century, rebuilt in the 19th century. Only the bell tower dates from the 14th century.

From the hamlet of passing the Surrier you can reach Rifugio Mario Bezzi the shelters and Rifugio Chalet de l' Epée within 2 hours. From the hamlet of Bonne, climb within 3:30 up to the refuge Rifugio degli Angeli al Morion.

During the Fascist period it received the Italianate name Valgrisenze.
