Introd

Introd is an Italian municipality in the autonomous region of Aosta Valley. The municipality has 640 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012), is located at an average altitude of 880 m slm and has a size of 20 km ². In French the inhabitants are called Introleins. In the language of the men Frankoprovenzialischen Le -z Èntrolèn and the women Le -z Èntrolèntse hot.

Introd consists of the districts Bioley Buillet, Chevrère, Crée, Délliod, Junod, Les Combes, Norat, Plan d' Introd, Tâche, Villes lingerie, Villes Dessus, Orvieille, Arpilles and Parriod. The neighboring municipalities are Arvier, Rhêmes -Saint- Georges, Valsavarenche and Villeneuve.

Introd is the concentration of the streams Dora Rhêmes (French Doire de Rhêmes ) and Savara. The name Introd to aquas from the Latin Inter and come ( between the waters ) from the French " Entre [ les ] eaux ". The community is located at the entrance of the Gran Paradiso National Park.

During the Fascist period, the village was the Italianate name Introdo.

In the summer, spent the Popes John Paul II and Benedict XVI. part of the summer holidays in the district of Les Combes.

With the winery Lo Triolet Introd has also one of the hallmarks of viticulture in the Aosta Valley.
