Champdepraz

Champdepraz is a municipality in the Italian Aosta Valley with 718 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012).

Location and data

Champdepraz is located about 42 kilometers east of Aosta at the beginning of the homonymous valley. The connection point Verrès the A5 motorway is approximately 5 km from the village.

The community belongs to the community association Comunità Montana Evançon. The neighboring municipalities are Chambave, Champorcher, Châtillon, Fénis, Issogne, Montjovet, Pontey and Verrès. The districts are Barbustel, Blanchet, soil, Capiron, Chef -lieu, Chantonet, Covarey, Crestaz, Cugnon, Dialley, Fabrique, Fussy, Gettaz - of - Allemands, Hérin, La Veulla, Le Sale, Losson and VIERING.

A large part of the municipality is the Natural Park of Mont Avic, the first park of its kind in the Aosta Valley. The park was established in 1989. The refuge Rifugio Barbustel is a popular place within the conservation area.

Attractions

Worth seeing is the Natural Park of Mont Avic. After abandonment of farming ( sheep farming ) the original landscape has been restored.
