Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Barquisimeto

The Archdiocese of Barquisimeto (Latin: Archidioecesis Barquisimetensis, Spanish: Arquidiócesis de Barquisimeto) is a location in Venezuela Roman Catholic archdiocese based in Barquisimeto.

History

The Archdiocese of Barquisimeto was born on March 7, 1863 by Pope Pius IX. Universam built with the Apostolic Constitution Ad from cessions of territory of the Diocese Diocese of Barquisimeto and Merida as the Archdiocese of Caracas is a suffragan. On August 14, 1867 Diocese of Barquisimeto was renamed the Diocese of Coro. The Diocese of Coro was renamed on October 22, 1869 in Diocese of Barquisimeto. On October 12, 1922, the Diocese of Barquisimeto were parts of its territory from the foundation of the Diocese of Coro. A further transfer of territory took place on June 7, 1954 to the founding of the diocese Guanare.

The Diocese of Barquisimeto was founded on April 30, 1966 by Pope Paul VI. charged with the Apostolic Constitution Sedi Apostolicae to an archbishopric. On October 7, 1966, the Archdiocese of Barquisimeto were parts of its territory from the foundation of the Diocese of San Felipe. Another area assignment was made on 25 July 1992 foundation of the diocese Carora.
