17th European Film Awards
The 17th European Film Prize was awarded on December 11, 2004 in Barcelona. With the film Gegen die Wand won for the second time in a row ( according to Good Bye, Lenin! ) Is a German film the grand prize.
As a big loser of the night was the Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar, who missed out with La Mala Educación ( Bad Education ), despite five nominations. For his life's work of the 72 -year-old Spanish director Carlos Saura was excellent. As an important pioneer for European cinema, the Norwegian actress Liv Ullmann was honored as ("European contribution to world cinema ").
