1937 World Snooker Championship

The Snooker World Cup 1937 was a tournament that was held for the fifth time in the Thurston 's Hall in London, England. Until the war-related break from 1941 this should remain the venue.

Like last year, denied Joe Davis and Horace Lindrum the final, which was won by Englishman with 32:29 and thus brought his eleventh consecutive title home. It was the first tournament participation of Joe's younger brother Fred, who later became eight-time winner of this tournament. For the first time in 10 years took a Welsh ( William Withers ) participated in the tournament. Withers was able to beat Fred Davis in the first round, but then lost in the quarterfinals against the series winner Joe Davis clearly with 1:30.
