1947 World Snooker Championship

The Snooker World Cup 1947, a tournament which was held in Leicester Square Hall in London, England.

It was the first World Cup which took place without the 15 -fold serial winner and defending champion Joe Davis. For the first time faced off in the finals the Scot Walter Donaldson and the Englishman Fred Davis, younger brother of Joe Davis, opposite. As the first non- Englishman Donaldson was able to win with a 82:63 win the title. The highest break Fred Davis scored with 135 points.

For the first time the later 8- time World Champion ( 1957-1968 ) John Pulman made ​​its appearance in this competition.
