1938 World Snooker Championship

The Snooker World Cup 1938, a tournament was held for the sixth time in the Thurston 's Hall in London, England. Until the war-related break from 1941 this should remain the venue.

For the first time in the history of this tournament, a qualifying round was played, in which three players competed against each other. Joe Davis, a result secured the title for the twelfth time, the final against Sidney Smith won with 37:24. He was also the player with the highest break of 104 points.

After 1935 and 1936, the Canadian Conrad Stanbury again took part in the dominated by English players tournament, but resigned after his first game. For the first and only time took CW Read, a player of unknown origin, at the World Cup finals.
