1999 World Snooker Championship

The Snooker World Championship 1999 was held from 17 April to 3 May 1999 at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield held and concluded the snooker season 1998 /99.

Defending champion was the Scot John Higgins, but lost this year in the semifinals against the Welshman Mark Williams with 10:17. He thus fell like its predecessor the curse of the Crucible victim. The winner was Higgins ' compatriot Stephen Hendry, who won the World Snooker Championship for the seventh and last time.
