1989 World Snooker Championship

In the finals played last year's winner Steve Davis against John Parrott. Davis won the game with 18:3 and overtook his sixth world title. At the same time it was the most significant victory in a World Snooker Championship final of all time.

In the clearest final of the World Cup history, Davis was able to work out from the beginning to a guide. Parrott took only the third and the seventh frame of the first session, so Davis went into the evening session with a 5-2 lead. There he moved to 13:3 it and played in the nine frames of the session a CenturyBreak and five breaks of more than 50 points. In the third session, Davis immediately brought all five, necessary to victory, frames at a time and thus won his sixth world title.
