2009 Grand Slam of Darts
The Partypoker.net Grand Slam of Darts 2009 was held from 14 to 22 November at the Civic Hall in Wolverhampton and organized by the PDC.
In addition to 26 players from the PDC which six players of the competing Dartverbands BDO had been invited.
It was played in eight groups of four, in each of which the two first place winners for the final round of the top 16 players qualified.
Defending champion was the English world champion Phil Taylor, who won the title again this year by a 16:2 - final win against Scott Waites.
Prizes
The total amount of undistributed prize money was £ 400,000.
Qualification
Unlike other tournaments, the qualification criteria directed not by ranking placements, but after wins, final and semi-final appearances at the major tournaments of the PDC and the BDO World Championship in the years before.
The BDO player Scott Waites took the place of the BDO World Champion Martin Adams, which the participation canceled for the third time in a row in the tournament.
