2010 Grand Slam of Darts

The Daily Mirror Grand Slam of Darts 2010 was held from 13 to 21 November at the Civic Hall in Wolverhampton and organized by the PDC.

In addition to 25 players in the PDC also seven players of the competing Dartverbands BDO had been invited.

It was played in eight groups of four, in each of which the two first place winners for the final round of the top 16 players qualified.

Defending champion was the English world champion Phil Taylor, who in consequence, however, in the quarterfinals with 14:16 lost after three tournament victories against the Englishman Steve Beaton.

Prizes

The total amount of undistributed prize money was £ 400,000.

Qualification

Unlike other tournaments, the qualification criteria directed not by ranking placements, but after wins, final and semi-final appearances at the major tournaments of the PDC and the BDO World Championship in the years before. Moreover, the two finalists of the PDC Women's World Darts Championship participated in the tournament.
