2011 Morocco Tennis Tour – Marrakech
The Morocco Tennis Tour Marrakech 2011 was the fifth edition of clay tennis court tournament in Marrakech. It was part of the ATP Challenger Tour in 2011 and was held from 21 until 26 March 2011 at the outside. It was part of the Morocco Tennis Tour 2011.
The field of the individual competition consisted of 32 players, double that of the competition from 16 pairs. For the individual tournament, a qualifying round with 14 participants took place in the run-up in which four players were able to qualify for the main draw. The prize money of the event totaled € 42,500 and thus € 60,250 less than last year.
In single won the top seed at position Portuguese Rui Machado, who won the final against the unseeded Frenchman Maxime Teixeira in three sets. This was the fifth Challenger singles title of his career and the first this season. Last year's winner Jarkko Nieminen from Finland not stepped up to defend their title.
In the double set at position four pairing consisting of the Australian Peter Luczak and the Italian Alessandro Motti won the final against the top seeds James Cerretani of the U.S. and Adil Shamasdin from Canada. This was Luczak seventh title on the Challenger Tour in a double of his career and the only one in this season. For Motti it was the tenth title in a dual tournament this category and the first of the season. It was her second joint success at a Challenger tournament. Last year's winners Ilija Bozoljac of Serbia and Horia Tecau of Romania both did not occur to defend their title.
