2011 JSM Challenger of Champaign–Urbana

The JSM Challenger of Champaign - Urbana 2011 was a tennis tournament which took place from 14 to 19 November 2011 in Champaign ( Illinois). It was as part of the ATP Challenger Tour 2011 is the tenth edition of the tournament and was played on indoor hard courts.

The field of the individual competition consisted of 32 players, double that of the competition from 16 pairs. Ahead there was a qualification tournament for the single round in which 16 participants from four starting positions were determined. The prize money of the event was as in the previous year total of 50,000 €.

Winner of the individual competition was the unseeded American Alex Kuznetsov, who defeated the set at position four South African Rik de Voest in straight sets. It was Kuznetsov's third title at Challenger level and his only title of the season. Last year's winner Alex Bogomolov Jr. came into this year not to defend his title.

Single Finalist de Voest managed set at position four in contrast to the single of the final victory in the doubles competition at the side of his compatriot Izak van der Merwe. She defeated top-seeded Martin Emmrich and there the Andreas Siljeström in the match tie-break. This van der Merwe managed the defense of his title from last year, which he had won along with Raven Klaasen. Klaasen failed this year with his new partner John Paul Fruttero in the semifinals. De Voest also won for the second time the doubles tournament from Champaign to 2006. It was also his third title of the season on Challenger level and his 33 career titles in this category, for van der Merwe of the twelfth challenger title of his career and fourth of the season. It was the fourth tournament, which they won together.
