2011 Challenger of Dallas

The yp Challenger of Dallas 2011 was the 13th edition of the hard court tennis tournament in Dallas. It was part of the ATP Challenger Tour in 2011 and was held in the hall on 28 February to 6 March 2011.

The field of the individual competition consisted of 32 players, double that of the competition from 16 pairs. In the individual competition, there was a qualifying round with 16 players, by the four players could qualify for the main draw itself. The prize money of the event was as in the previous year total of $ 50,000.

Winner of the individual competition was the unseeded American Alex Bogomolov Jr., who defeated in the finals in fourth set German Rainer Schuettler in straight sets. It was Bogomolovs eighth Challenger singles title of his career and the first of the season. The winner of the last two sweeps, Ryan Sweeting had to withdraw its participation in this year. For him Raven Klaasen enlisted as a lucky loser into the main draw of the singles competition.

In doubles, the top-seeded Americans Scott Lipsky and Rajeev Ram won the final against the seeded number four German pairing of Dustin Brown and Bjorn Phau. Lipsky was able to defend his title from last year, he had won with David Martin. Martin failed this year with his this year's partner Bobby Reynolds in the first round. For Rajeev Ram it was already the third success in Dallas to the title wins in 2006 and 2008, making him the most successful doubles player in the tournament since the beginning of the match. In 2006, he won the tournament with Reynolds, the title in 2008 with Prakash Amritraj. Overall, this was the 22 Rams success in a dual tournament the Challenger category and the first this year. For Lipsky it was the 19th tournament victory in the doubles in this category and the second of the season. It was her second common title.
