2013 IIHF Women's World Championship

The 15th Ice Hockey World Championships Women's International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships were the of 2013. A total of between April 1 and April 14, 2013 32 teams in the five tournaments in the top division and the divisions I to part II. In addition, three national teams took part in a qualifying tournament for the Division II B, which was held in December 2012 in Izmir, Turkey.

Top Division

The top division of the World Championship was held from 2nd to April 9th, 2013 in the Canadian city of Ottawa, Ontario. It was played at Scotiabank Place ( 19 153 seats) in the district of Kanata and Nepean Sportsplex in Nepean district with 3,000 seats.

Mode

Division I

A group in Stavanger, Norway

The tournament of Division I, Group A was from 7 to April 13, 2013 in Stavanger, Norway, discharged. Venue of the tournament was opened in 2012, DNB arena offering 4,500 spectators and otherwise is home to the Stavanger Oilers. The tournament winner was the Japanese national team with four wins and thus increased again in the top division. As the toughest competitor of Japanese women, Denmark, who had after a 2-1 victory on the second match against Japan the best chances on the climb, but this playful by a 2:4 defeat against Austria the following day proved. A group in Auckland, New Zealand

The tournament of Division II, Group A, was from 8 to April 13, 2013 in Auckland, New Zealand, discharged. Venue of the tournament was the ice rink Paradice Botany that holds 400 spectators and otherwise is the home ground of the Botany Swarm. As a newly promoted to Division IB, the Hungarian team qualified on the final day, as those defeated the Italians 3-1 with it - reached the tournament - due to the gained direct comparison.

Qualification to Division II B

The qualification for the group B of Division II was held in the Turkish city of Izmir from 7 to 9 December 2012. The games took place in the 1,751 -seat Bornova Buz Sporları Salonu.

With two wins, Turkey qualified for the tournament in Group B of Division II in 2014.
