2013 US Open – Mixed Doubles
Mixed the U.S. Open 2013.
Title defenders were Ekaterina Makarova and Bruno Soares. While Makarova did not compete for the title defense, Soares reached the semifinals with his new partner Anabel Medina Garrigues. There, they lost 3:6 and 1:6 against Abigail Spears and Santiago González. For Spears, it was the first Grand Slam final of her career, González was already at the French Open in 2012 in the final. They lost in the final Hlaváčková Andrea and Max Mirny clear in two sets. This Hlaváčková won her first Grand Slam title in mixed doubles, Mirny won his third U.S. Open title in mixed doubles and fourth in total mixed trophy. In the semifinals, the two had defeated Kristina Mladenovic and Daniel Nestor with the finalists of the French Open and Wimbledon winner just in three sets.
