Aleksander Grad

Aleksander Grad ( born May 1, 1962 in Łosiniec ) is a Polish politician. 2007 to 2011 he was Minister of the State Treasury of Poland.

Life

Aleksander Grad studied 1981 to 1987 at the Academy of Mining and Metallurgy Krakow ( Akademia Górniczo - Hutnicza ) where he graduated with a master's in engineering. He then worked as a private contractor, before he was elected in 1990 in the Council of the Municipality Pleśna. Here he was in charge until 1994, deputy mayors and especially for the technical infrastructure. 1997 to 1999 he was voivode of voivodeship Tarnów. In February 1999, he was consultant to the World Bank, before he became Under-Secretary of the Polish Ministry of Health in June 1999. In 2001, he joined the Civic Platform ( Platforma Obywatelska - PO ) and was established in October 2001, this deputy in the Sejm. 2004 to 2006 he was in the Lesser Poland Province Chairman, Platforma Obywatelska. Even after the 2005 parliamentary elections, he returned for the PO to the Polish Parliament. After the early parliamentary elections in 2007, he was on 16 November 2007 to the State Treasury Minister (Minister Skarbu Państwa ). In the 2011 parliamentary elections he could with 23,671 votes in the constituency 15 Tarnów again gain a seat in the Sejm. On 18 November 2011, he was replaced as Minister of Mikołaj Budzanowski.
