Katarzyna Hall

Katarzyna Hall ( kata'ʒɨna ' xal ), born Kończa, ( born March 15, 1957 in Gdańsk ) is a Polish politician. From 2007 to 2011 Minister of Education was the nonparty Hall in the government of Donald Tusk.

Life

Katarzyna Hall closed the eighth general secondary school (VIII Liceum Ogólnokształcące ) from in her hometown, and then studied mathematics at the University of Gdansk. In 1976 she married her first husband, with whom she two sons ( born 1978 and 1979). Shortly after the second son's birth her ​​husband died. In August 1980, she became a teacher at a public school sport before it was in 1984 at the Institute of Mathematics of the University of Gdansk. In 1989, she became involved in building the first private lyceum of the Tricity, Gdańsk independent Lyceum ( Gdańskie Liceum Autonomiczne ). In 1996 she married the Polish politician Aleksander Hall, with whom she has a son. 1999-2001 she was a member of the Consultation Council for education reforms. In addition, she was an editor of the program for elementary and secondary schools and high schools Klocki Autonomiczne. 2004 to 2005, she was Coordinator of the program " SzkoĹ Otwarta na świat " ( school open to the world ), which mainly dealt with the exchange of experiences with Ukrainian schools. On February 13, 2006, she was Vice President of Gdansk.

The Cabinet Tusk I served on as Minister of Education. In the parliamentary elections in 2011, she was elected on the list of PO in the Sejm and retired from the government. Her successor was Krystyna Szumilas.
