Geography

Geographical location

Alerheim located in Ries, nine kilometers due east of Nördlingen, and is part of the planning region of Augsburg. About a kilometer further east flows the Wörnitz.

History

For the first time in the 8th century AD Alerheim is documented as "Villa Alarheim " in connection with a donation to the imperial abbey of Fulda.

Alerheim was from 1306 to 1806 in the family of Oettingen- Wallerstein and came as a senior official of the principality of Oettingen -Wallerstein with the Act of Confederation in 1806 to Bavaria.
