Geography

Monheim is situated in a nature park Altmuhltal in the Region of Augsburg.

There are the following districts: Flotzheim, Itzing, Kölburg, Monheim, Rehau, Ried, Warching, Weilheim, Wittesheim.

History

Monheim was created in 7/8 Century. In the year 870 the Benedictine monastery was founded in the town. The survey Monheim to the city was by the Counts of Oettingen before the year 1340.
