Buchdorf

Book Village is a municipality in the Swabian district of Donau-Ries and a member of the administrative community Monheim.

Book village counts down to the border towns of Alemannic dialect space for Bairischen. Also, the district Baierfeld is a border town.

History

The monastery and the monastery of the Holy Cross Kaisheim in Donauwörth were the most important landowners in book village in the Middle Ages. However, the neighboring communities Baierfeld and Bergstetten play a much more important role: both are mentioned in a document of 1137 Bishop Gebhard of Eichstätt, even Baier fields Pastor Hartwig is mentioned here by name.
