Alexander Symonenko

Oleksandr Serhiowytsch Symonenko (Ukrainian Олександр Сергійович Симоненко; born February 14, 1974 in Kirovohrad ) is a Ukrainian former racing cyclist.

In 1992, Oleksandr Symonenko twofold Vice Junior World Champion in the individual pursuit and points race. 1995 in Bogota, and in 1997 in Perth, he finished with Ukrainian train of four each second in UCI Track World Championships. At the 1998 Track World Championships in Bordeaux won the Ukrainian foursome with Simonenko the world title. 2001, at the Track World Championships in Antwerp Symonenko was double World Champion in the team and the individual pursuit.

Twice Symonenko took part in the Olympic Games. At the games in Sydney in 2000 he won the silver medal in the Team Pursuit ( with Olexandr Fedenko, Serhiy Matwjejew and Ruslan Pidhornyj ).
