Allan Howe

Allan Turner Howe ( born September 6, 1927 at the Salt Lake County, Utah; † 14 December 2000 in Arlington, Virginia ) was an American politician. Between 1975 and 1977 he represented the second electoral district of the state of Utah in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Allan Howe attended the common schools and then the University of Utah, where he among other things, studied law until 1954. After his 1955 was admitted to the bar he began in Salt Lake City to work in his new profession. Previously, he had been from 1946 to 1947 member of the U.S. Coast Guard. Between 1957 and 1959 he was a deputy district attorney in Salt Lake County.

Politically, Howe member of the Democratic Party. Between 1959 and 1964 he worked for U.S. Senator Frank Moss. In the years 1965 and 1966 was Howe Deputy Attorney General of Utah. After that, he was from 1966 to 1968 the senior staff of Governor Calvin L. Rampton on. From 1968 to 1972 he was a leading member of the " Four Corners Regional Development Commission ". Between 1954 and 1960 he was a delegate to all the Democratic party days in Utah. In the meantime, he worked as a lawyer in Salt Lake City.

1974 Allan Howe was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, where he replaced Wayne Owens on January 3, 1975. Two years later, he was not re-elected. His mandate was awarded to the Republican Dan Marriott. After the end of his time in Congress Allan Howe worked as a lawyer in Washington. He died on 14 December 2000 in Arlington.
