Geography

Almstedt is located south of Hildesheim on the southern flank of the Hildesheim Forest between the natural parks Weser Uplands in the west and resin in the southeast. Almstedt is traversed by the Alme (tributary of Riehe ).

History

In 1151 Almstedt was first mentioned in records. The town's name means "place of the Alme ".
