Altria
Altria Group, Inc. ( NYSE: MO), Philip Morris Companies Inc. until 2003 called, is an American, an international Group.
History
The Altria Group posted 2010 sales of 24.4 billion U.S. dollars a profit of $ 3.9 billion and employed approximately 10,400 employees. Well-known brands are Marlboro and L & M. From October 1985 to February 2008, the company was represented in the stock index Dow Jones Industrial Average.

The Altria Group held until the end of March 2007 also 87.2 % of the shares of Kraft Foods, the second largest producer of food products. Furthermore, the Altria Group to the " spin-off" end of March 2008 held all the shares of Philip Morris International.
Trivia
- In 1994, all Philip Morris Manager swore in court that no smoking is addictive. Critics refer to these statements as perjury.
- On 30 March 1999, the Philip Morris group was sentenced by a U.S. court to pay damages in the amount of 81 million U.S. dollars to the survivors of a smoker.
