Ambès

Ambès is a commune in the Gironde department in the region of Aquitaine. The municipality is located in the catchment area of the city of Bordeaux. While Ambès in 1962 still had 2046 inhabitants, is one you currently 2868 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011). The community belongs to the community association Communauté Urbaine de Bordeaux and is accessible by bus lines of the TBC.

Geography

Ambès lies between the rivers Garonne and Dordogne. The tip formed at the confluence is called Bec d' Ambès (French le bec is the beak ). Here the Gironde estuary begins.
