Artists United Against Apartheid

Artists United Against Apartheid was an all-star band and an auxiliary project, which was initiated in 1985 by Little Steven, the longtime guitarist Bruce Springsteen. Arthur Baker was the producer of the album Sun City and the eponymous single, which both originated in New York. Then there was rock music that was influenced by funk, pop and reggae.

An ' Artists United Against Apartheid ' were involved in over fifty internationally renowned musicians. The single Sun City achieved worldwide chart positions, including the United States ( 38th ), Great Britain ( 21), Germany ( 17th), Austria (No. 30 ), Switzerland ( 7th place), Australia (4th place ) and Canada ( Place 10). The proceeds from the record sales benefited Africa fund, political prisoners and cultural institutions.
