Ashton Rome

Ashton Rome ( born December 31, 1985 in Nesbitt ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who plays in the position of a winger. Currently he is at the Düsseldorf issued in the German Ice Hockey League contract.

Career

Rome began his hockey career in the Western Hockey League with the Moose Jaw Warriors, Red Deer Rebels and the Kamloops Blazers. He was twice in the National Hockey League Entry Draft drawn, first in 2004 after the Bruins did not take of the Boston Bruins, and again in 2006 by the San Jose Sharks, signed him.

His professional career began in Rome at the Worcester Sharks in the American Hockey League, where he played from 2006 to 2008. In the 2008 /09 season he was transferred after only three games to the Phoenix Road Runners in the East Coast Hockey League, but also played six games for the Toronto Marlies. In the 2009/10 season he played 21 games for the Marlies ( AHL ), 39 games for the Idaho Steelheads ( ECHL ), and returned to the end of the season in the AHL, where he, with the Hershey Bears Calder Cup, the AHL Championship won. After the title in the following season could not be defended, Rome moved to the Portland Pirates.

After only five games for the Greenville Road Warriors Rome changed on 25 October 2012 Düsseldorf EC in the German Hockey League, where after almost 5 minutes, he received a one- match penalty in his first match.

On February 6, 2014, the Düsseldorf EC announced that Ashton Rome, has asked spite of only a few weeks previously performed contract extension until 2015 for personal reasons, the club's management to terminate the contract as the end of season 2013/2014, which was agreed by mutual consent.
