Beyond Magnetic is an EP of the thrash metal band Metallica, which was published on 14 December 2011 digitally. The album contains four songs that were recorded for Metallica's ninth studio album Death Magnetic (2008). However, they had been deleted from the final version of the album and thus never released. The songs were but recycled in the thirty - year anniversary of Metallica, which took place on four evenings between 5 and 10 December 2011 and first performed live. Just a few days after the EP was released. On their website, however, gave Metallica weeks later announced that the EP will be released on January 27, 2012, in CD format. Reasons for the re-release was that they wanted to stick to the principles.

In Metal Hammer commented Matthias Weckmann that there have been reasons that the songs would not have made it to Death Magnetic and in the short playing time of the spice of the band would currently lie. He forgave five of seven points. Ronny Bittner of the Rock Hard said the songs were not great quality differ from Death Magnetic, but criticized the loudness was production by Rick Rubin. He forgave seven out of ten. Ulf Kubanke of Laut.de was of the view that Beyond Magnetic much more alive would come around the corner as the parent album, which was only partially convinced him. He missed three out of five stars. Singles were none. However, the song Hate Train, made it to number 30 of the Austrian singles chart.
