History
The name Böbing comes from a clan of Babo or Bebo. First mention was in 935 with the place name Bebingoe. Later, the city went Welf IV donated to the nearby monastery gang book. This is assigned the deed of 27 December 1074. Böbing still belonged in the Electorate of Bavaria to Klosterrotte book and was a part of the closed Hofmark gang book. In the course of administrative reform in the Kingdom of Bavaria was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community.

Besides the beautiful Catholic church with Lourdes grotto in the center there is outside of the village in the direction of Schoenberg a small plague cemetery. There, the plague victims of the 1643 is thought. According to there mounted information board is held every year in mid- August, a small procession there.

- Martin Gretsch man: musician, who drew attention to himself (in collaboration with Andreas Ammer ) through music projects such as Console and successful radio plays. As a member of the group Notwist 2010 he received the German Film Award for the soundtrack to the film "Storm".
