Borutta

Borutta ( Sardinian: Boruta ) is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 282 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012) in the province of Sassari in Sardinia. The municipality is located in the north of the island and about 27.5 kilometers southeast of Sassari.

History

The Grotta sa Rocca Ulari was inhabited around 3500 BC by people ( the Ozieri culture). The Kathedralbau San Pietro di Sorres was built in the 12th and 13th centuries for the existing diocese Sorres to 1505 and belongs to a Klosteranalage above the present village. Today it is in the Diocese Sorres a titular.
