Giave

Giave ( Sardinian Tzavè ) is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 579 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012) in the north of the island of Sardinia in the province of Sassari. The municipality is situated approximately 34.5 kilometers south-southeast of Sassari and is part of the Comunità Montana del Logudoro.

History

Numerous Nuraghe and Domus de Janas, including the outstanding stone of Mendalza meant that the area was called Valle dei Nuraghi.

Traffic

Passing through the municipality, the Strada Statale 131 Carlo Felice from Cagliari to Porto Torres. The station is served by trains from Giave on the railway line Cagliari - Golfo Aranci Marittima.
