Thiesi

Thiesi is a place in the province of Sassari in Sardinia and is located in Meilogu on a limestone plateau, close to the highway " Carlo Felice " SS131 with 3009 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012). The place is situated on a limestone hill.

The Catalan- Sardinian parish of Santa Maria was built around 1500. Her gray main portal to the above oblique formants, which dispenses with any plastic contour, has a planar order with a large rose window. The architrave above which is a tympanum, draws on much older pre-Romanesque reliefs. According to their model the nearby parish churches were built in Cheremule, Cossione and Semestre.
