Valledoria

Valle Doria ( Gallurese: Codaruina ) is a town with 4066 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Sassari.

Geography

Valle Doria lies on the north east coast of Sardinia Castelsardo Asinara Gulf, near the mouth of the Coghinas which forms the large lagoon La Perla Blu there. To the municipality next to the main town also includes the municipalities of La Ciaccia and La Muddizza.

History

Valledoria originally belonged to the Giudicato of Torres and then came into the possession of the Genoese Doria family.
