Villanova Monteleone
Villanova Monteleone is a Sardinian town in the province of Sassari with 2347 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012). It is available as on the slopes of Santa Maria massif at an altitude 567-598 m above sea level. It is worth noting that the city is despite your height only about 16 km from the beach.
The neighboring municipalities are Alghero, Bosa (OR), Ittiri, Monteleone Rocca Doria, Montresta (OR), Padria, Putifigari, Romana, Thiesi.
Generally
The city was founded after the conquest of Alghero by the Catalans and the expulsion of its Sardinian residents until 1354. The houses have old exposed brick facades of trachyte. In Palatu ' s sas Iscolas is an ethnographic museum. The churches of San Leonardo, Santa Croce and Rosario have remarkable wooden altars.
Located on the road to Alghero, much sung Su Paradiso fountain and the Sa Rocca Pinta Rock Formation are also worth seeing the look on Alghero.
Nuragic of Appiu
To the south (towards Bosa ) the road leads to " Parco Archeologico Nuraghe Appiu " and after Montresta. According Appiu, located in a pristine mountain region with oak forests, lies around 6.5 km. The excavated since 2001, this complex of formerly about 200 stone huts, of which only are the about waist-deep foundation, has two smaller dolmens, the remains of a giant tomb, a stone circle and the heavily battered Nuraghe. the unsightly debris cone has well-preserved inside three rooms. the plant will be on 900-800 BC dated. the park is a visitor center.
Giants grave Laccaneddu
Near the road to Puttigari lies the grave of giants Laccaneddu whose 7.1 m long and 2.8 m wide receive Chamber of large Trachytsteinen, while only the 6.8 m wide remnant of a facade is present. Behind the apse is a structure that could have been a barrow.
Domus de Janas of Puttu Codinu
South of the town of Lago di Temo is surrounded by the characteristic mesas. Nearby are the nine Domus de Janas (Houses of the Fairies ) by Puttu Codinu.
