Bovolone

Bovolone is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 15,813 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012) in the Province of Verona in the Veneto region. The community is located about 22 kilometers southeast of Verona and 19 kilometers northwest of Legnano. Through the municipal area, which is surrounded by the Veronese Plain, the Menago flows.

History

In the area stilt houses have been detected, so that even at early times, a settlement must have existed. The villages were early ( 813) to the possessions of the bishop of Verona.

In the 1930s, originated in Bovolone a military airfield, which was also used by German Junkers Ju 87 in the Second World War. 1959 was built on the site of an anti-aircraft missile position, remember the remains of the airfield.
