Terrazzo, Veneto

Terrazzo is a municipality with 2255 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the Italian province of Verona, region Veneto.

The municipality covers 20.53 km ². The local saint is San Paolo. The neighboring municipalities are Badia Polesine ( RO), Bevilacqua, Boschi Sant'Anna, Castagnaro, Castel Baldo (PD ), Legnano, Merlara (PD ), Urbana (PD ) and Villa Bartolomea.

The place is situated on the Adige, about 49 kilometers south of Verona on the border with the province of Padua.

History

The region was already settled around 1400 to 1200 BC, the late Bronze Age. The oldest finds are dated to 1600 BC.

In Roman times it was because of the Emilia Altinate, a built 175 BC road that led from Bologna to Aquileia.

Economy

The place is dominated by agriculture, a major product is honey.
