BVN

BVN ( het van Vlaanderen en Nederland best ), the Dutch-speaking public television station for Dutch and Flemish abroad. BVN is operated by NPO based in Hilversum. This is the transmitter is a collaboration of the Dutch public broadcasting NPO and the Flemish Radio and Television VRT, like 3sat for German -speaking or French -speaking channel TV5 Monde.

The program consists primarily of news, documentaries, series, talk shows, children's programs and entertainment on Nederland 1, 2 and 3 (including Zappelin and Zapp ) and VRT Een, Canvas, Ketnet/Op12. Since 25 March 2007, a 12-hour block (from 13:00 bis 1:00 clock ) is sent and then repeated once, so that BVN broadcasts 24 hours a day.

History

The program started in 1996 under the name Zomer TV ( Summer TV ) as a program for the Dutch tourists in Europe. It was first broadcast only a few hours a day unencrypted over one of the Astra satellites. The program has been gradually evolved into a worldwide Dutch international broadcaster, which bore the name BVN as an abbreviation for Best het van Nederland. BVN is digitally broadcasted by Kabel BW in developed areas.
