Model history

In December 1908 Cadillac unveiled the new Model Thirty, a technically based on the Model G four-cylinder model; at the same time was the production of the single cylinder vehicles that had hitherto formed the backbone of the Cadillac production set.

The Model Thirty -operated valve located on the wheelbase from 254 to 269 cm extended chassis of the Model G and its 3.7-liter inline four- cylinder, which has been modernized with minor changes. By focusing on a single model and increasing the numbers of the Model Thirty was offered for $ 600 cheaper than before the Model G. Initially were only open models in the catalog, namely a four-to five-seater touring car and a dreisitziger Roadster. In the spring of 1910 a limousine with a closed rear and a coupé were added. In the same year, the engine was enlarged to 4.2 liters. 1911, the wheelbase was stretched to 295 cm; body side, there were now three-door torpedo and touring car versions, the Left Front had a door for the first time. The engine was further enlarged to 4.7 liters.

1912 eliminated the designation Model Thirty; in the technical over the previous year largely unchanged model open touring car, and Torpedo Phaeton, as well as sedan and coupe were ( the now four occupants space provided ) to choose from. All bodies now had around doors. For the model year 1912 Cadillac offered the first manufacturer worldwide to an electric starter. 1913, the wheelbase has been extended again, to 305 cm, and drilled out the engine to 6 liters. In 1914 an Inside Drive Limousine -called two-door sedan in addition to the offer.

In September 1914, the Model Thirty five years and nearly 67,000 copies was replaced by the Type 51 with a V8 engine.
