The Cadillac Model B was the second model of the U.S. car manufacturer Cadillac.

Presented the second, beginning in 1904 and until 1905 built Cadillac it was a constructive modified model A. In place of the rounded front end sheet came a box-shaped structure and the bent frame of the predecessor gave way to a pressed steel box frame.

Was driven of the model B as the predecessor of a lying housed under the left front seat, single-cylinder engine of the company Leland & Faulconer (type " Little Hercules" ), which transferred power via a two-speed planetary transmission to the rear wheels.

The Model B, there were four different versions: as a two-seater runabout, as a four-seater with additional attachment at the rear called ( entry from behind ), Tonneau than deluxe twin seats and a vierplätzigen Surrey with side access to the rear seats.

1905 the specified performance of the single-cylinder rose from 8.25 to 9 hp and, on request, the car was with a wider track ( 154.9 instead of 138.3 cm) supplied.

1904 Cadillac produced a total of 2319 in the following year 4029 vehicles of all series.

Derivatives of the model B

On the Model B based in the years 1905-1908 some other Cadillac models with single-cylinder engine.

This was in detail to the models:

Model C ( Spring / Summer 1905): a model B with the larger " hood " and the condenser of the Cadillac Model F;
Model E ( 1905): two-seat open runabout with a larger hood, in which there were lateral ventilation slots;
Model F ( 1905): as Model E, but extended wheelbase by 5 cm, available as a deluxe two-seater or four-seater touring car with non-removable tonneau structure and side doors;
Model K ( 1906/ 07): slightly modified chassis, new bodywork ( "Victoria" ) called, available as a two-seater runabout Victoria;
Model M (1906-1908): as extended Model K, wheelbase by 5 cm, offered as a four-seat Victoria touring car or two-seat delivery model (1907 as a closed two-seat Victoria Coupe, in 1908 only as a delivery );
Model S (1908 ): extended wheelbase is 208.3 cm, available with two different open runabout abutments, continuous running boards instead of simple steps, with optional rear Einzelnotsitz or Notsitzbank;
Model T (1908 ): as Model S, but karossiert as an open four-seater touring car or a closed Victoria Coupe.

Prices for Model C to T: 750-1350 dollars, numbers not known.

The single-cylinder production started at Cadillac from the 1908; 1909 turned the brand with the Model Thirty the luxury car market.
