Cadillac Series 60 Sport Coupe (1937 )

The Cadillac Series 60 was a 1936 to 1938 by the U.S. carmaker Cadillac offered model.

Only in 1935, the 16- cylinder models of the plant also ran under the name Series 60; from 1936 these were designated as Series 90. To better distinguish the new Series 60 Series was the name unofficially 36-60 (Model 1936 ) or 37-60 (1937 ), etc.

Model history

As part of the reorganization of the model program for model year 1936, the Cadillac range was divided into the types of Series 60, Series 70, Series 75 ( with V8), Series 80 and 85 ( with the V12) and Series 90 ( with V16 engine ).

The Series 60 was about the cheapest Cadillac model and was designed by an all-new 5.3- liter V8 with side valves (125 hp), while the 70/75 also had the new 5.7-liter V8 of the brand; also rested the 60 on a shorter wheelbase (307 instead of 333 and 350.5 cm at 70 /75). Offers were initially two-door coupes and convertibles and a five-seater Touring Sedan. Priced lay 60 to about $ 500 below comparable models of the Series 65

1937 increased the wheelbase of the Series 60 to 315 cm; New to the range is a four-door Cabriolet and the 5.7-liter was (135 hp) was now also in use 60.

1938 Cadillac Sixty Special appeared as a special model based on the 60th

Beginning in 1939, replacing the Cadillac Series 61 to 60 in the Cadillac program; 60 Special remained in production.

From the Series 60 in three years emerged 15.767 pieces; all the bodies were from Fisher Bodies.
